Huntington National Bank is a leading financial institution specializing in banking services and investment management. Committed to innovation and efficiency, the bank continuously seeks to optimize its technology and enterprise architecture to support business growth and operational excellence.
Huntington National Bank required a comprehensive assessment and enhancement of its Business Application landscape and Enterprise Architecture Workspace. The bank sought deeper insights into business applications, capability scoring, and key performance indicators to align application models with business objectives. Additionally, improvements were needed for the Enterprise Architecture Dashboard and UI Builder capabilities to enhance visualization and decision-making.
Proviniti conducted an extensive review of Huntington’s Business Application landscape and Enterprise Architecture Workspace. The engagement involved in-depth assessments and workshops to evaluate business capability scoring, indicators, and the limitations of the current setup. A structured maturity plan was developed to enhance business alignment and improve strategic planning. Lifecycle mapping of custom application model decisions to out-of-the-box (OOB) values was executed, ensuring consistency across the application portfolio. The application model process was also reviewed, introducing new models and refining their correlation with business application records.
Service UI Builder and dashboard views were analysed to identify opportunities for improving the Enterprise Architecture Dashboard. Enhancements were recommended to optimize data visualization and usability. Workshops were conducted to assess Business Application fields such as Application Category, Application Family, Architecture Type, Lifecycle Status, and Lifecycle Status Stage. These sessions provided a structured understanding of field usage, supported by comprehensive documentation for knowledge sharing. During the engagement, access to a demo instance for Application Portfolio Management (APM) was awaited to further refine Business Application documentation and align it with Huntington’s Enterprise Architecture objectives. Updates were made to business capability and business application indicators, ensuring accurate and consistent evaluation and reporting across the organization.
Through this engagement, Huntington National Bank gained a clearer understanding of its Business Application landscape, scoring mechanisms, and key indicators. The structured maturity plan and lifecycle mapping of application models streamlined decision-making and application rationalization. Updates to business capability indicators improved alignment with business goals, while enhanced UI Builder and dashboard functionalities provided better visualization for Enterprise Architecture insights. The creation of detailed documentation empowered internal teams with the knowledge to effectively leverage Enterprise Architecture capabilities within ServiceNow.
